”这只是一个普通的店面，但我觉得做一个十二个餐位的高级餐厅刚刚好。“

”我就要一个洞穴，两面墙就可以了“。我们已经习惯谢帆的乐观与果断。

”就像是柏拉图说的那种洞穴吗？“

”对！“

就这样，我们确定了这个叫Datenbank的高级餐厅的设计起点。

This is a normal storefront, but it is just right for a 12-seat fine restaurant.

I just need a cave. Two walls are enough.’ We are used to Xie’s optimism and decisiveness.

Like Plato’s cave?

That’s right.

This is how we start the design of Datenbank, a fine dining restaurant.

在室内植入的两面实体墙，面层是掺了氧化铁红的水洗石，现场调节铁红比例。水洗石是在计划经济时代经常用于外墙的材料，表面粗粝，摩挲起来有原始感。“一横一竖”两道红墙把店铺分成了四个空间：临街的过渡区，一个带“板前”服务的就餐区，一条通向卫生间的长廊和店铺尽端的服务后勤区。

The two embedded walls are covered with roughcast added with Fe2O3, and we tested the ratio of Fe2O3 on the spot. Roughcast was commonly used in wall construction during planned economy period, which has a coarse surface and give the walls a sense of primitive. The two walls are located perpendicularly, dividing the store into four subspace - a hallway near the street, an omakase dining area, a corridor leading to the bathroom and a logistic room at the end.

暗红色的墙体营造了洞穴的氛围，一条十米长的海洋木餐桌直指在洞穴的尽头——不锈钢墙面，墙面反射出洞穴内外影影错错的图像，不锈钢的包裹的卫生间仿佛预示着洞穴并不是世界的尽头，而是一个包含着未来的出口。

Dark red color of the walls is the main element to create the cave mood. The 10-meter-long dining table made of marine plywood lies parallel to the wall, leading to the end of the cave. At the end of the cave, light and shadow ripples on the stainless steel wall, reflecting shifting scenarios in the restaurant. The bathroom is also space covered with stainless steel, indicating that the cave is not the end of the world but an exit to future world.

坐在海洋木餐桌前，手扶桌沿，海洋木的表面被谢帆亲自用透明丙烯颜料涂刷过几遍，手感温柔。坐着扭头向街面看，墙体上留有洞口，洞口与坐着的人的视线相平。视线穿过洞口可以看到乳白色轻盈的半透明大门和门口精心布置的花草——这里才是我们真实的世界。

Sitting in front of the marine plywood made table you may touch the surface of the table and feel its silky texture - Xie himself painted it with transparent acrylic paint for several times. When taking a look at the wall facing street, there is a strip of void just at the height of guests’ sight. Through the void, milk white gate and the delicate vegetation form a beautiful window view, where the real world exists.

Datenbank的阳光板大门也是一道分隔内外，区分现实梦境的白墙。夜晚时分，墙会打开，接入洞穴梦境。

The gate of Datenbank made of polycarbonate is also a white wall to separate interior and outdoor, reality and dream. At night, the wall will be opened, and the entrance to the cave dream will show.

我们用空间复述了柏拉图的“洞穴寓言”，这是一个关于世界的隐喻。这个世界是由不多的几个隐喻构成的。我们希望食客能够在我们构建的隐喻世界里，完成一次美食之旅。

The design is our interpretation of Plato’s allegory of the cave. It is a metaphor of the world, and the world is not composed by many metaphors. We wish that diners can achieve a wonderful journey of food in the metaphorical world we build.
